    Tuesday

Last night I said “Burrell Top Flight day today. I need to take this to the Shapton again, the edge is worse than it was before my recent touch up.”
Today I’ll say “Wade and Butcher Special day today. I need to take this to the Shapton again, the edge is worse than it was before my recent touch up.”
Seems that last honing session may have also been too much of a beer session.

Went with the Body Shop Macca Root shave cream this morning. This cream is almost ‘too easy’ to lather.

Clubman is always good. ‘Nuff said.

The photo effect reminds me of that ‘flock art’ stuff we had in the late 70’s, of castles on hills and horses rearing, etc. Remember that?

    • Warm shower
    • Geldmacher "Jhansi Ki Rani," or "Queen of Jhansi"
    • Palmolive cream, whipped with badger
    • Lucky Tiger menthol disappearing cream
    • Pinaud Clubman a/s

Can't remember what type of grind this is called. Looks like a frameback. If I recall, it is slightly bellied. (Didn't have my glasses this morning, so couldn't confirm that.) Never have gotten a terrific shave out of this blade. Some irritation this morning, probably owing to buffing strokes that I used. Hence, the Lucky Tiger.

Jhansi Ki Rani was a provincial royal who figured significantly in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The British seized the throne under the "lapse" doctrine, following the death of her natural born heir. (Thank you, Wikipedia!) Puzzling that she is honored with a razor, of all things, but who am I to second-guess Herr Geldmacher?

    Strop: MickR's Roo Hide
    Brush: Comoy Badger
    Soap: Tabac
    Razor: Invicta 6/8
    Astringent: Thayer's
    Balm: Nivea Replenishing
    A/S: Old Spice
It must be close to a week since my last shave.
I whipped up a nice big bowl of Tabac and went to work with the Invicta.
It served me well. 2 passes and a couple of touch-ups and I'm smooth as a catfish's belly.
