Thanked: 4Good morning Gents!
Today:
Pre: hot towel
Brush: Victoria Bechhofen silvertip
Shaving soap: Barbus
Razor: 11/16" Stolichnaya 1/4 hollow
Post: Alpa Eau de Cologne
The result not was enough good to me...this razor need more honing. I felt, that the base of the edge is good, but not enough sharp.

Thanked: 485Friday
Great shave with the Klas Törnblom this morning. I’m liking this razor more; it used to be that it was a bugger to strop, but I’ve come to grips with it. I’ll definitely have to get some more Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar; I’ve had this bottle for almost a year; it was one of the first ‘fancy’ aftershaves I bought when I first started straight shaving a little over a year ago. Before that after shaves were bought by family for Father’s day and birthdays. I like the Trafalgar; it’s a very sunny citrusy scent; for spring and summer; so I should order some.
Was listening to old style Gospel music on the way to work again this morning. I didn’t actually realise what a great Gospel singer I am. It’s quite astonishing, really. The highlight of the day; though, was watching a Black Shouldered Kite hovering looking for prey.
Cufflinks of the day were birds too. Pheasants. Mightily pissed off I was when I saw that leaving the lids off my cufflink boxes was a BAD idea. The damp air allowed water to get under the glass and stain the background a little. My wife hates these, which is entirely why I continue to wear them of course.
I’ve enjoyed our conversation throughout this working week; have a nice weekend. I hope for you the weekend is sunny, 25, slight, slight breeze; or maybe 35, boiling hot, at the pool or beach; with a really nice hot night and a party to go to.
Catch you later, Carl
PS, wish I could post a link to Mary Don't You Weep by The Caravans, but my internet connection's been slowed and it's taken about an hour just to post THIS!!!

Manaslu M-55 | Chubby 2 | DR Harris Windsor | AdP Balsamo | Montale Red Vetyver
An excellent Friday this seems to be! I received the new Windsor soap yesterday, and couldn't wait to give it a go. It's a wonderful scent, and the performance is exactly what I've come to expect from Harris' tallow offerings! The chubby tore into the brand new puck and I soon found my face smothered in piles of creamy white lather. The Windsor opens with a wonderful grapefruit/citrus accord. Depth is added with some cracked black pepper and the base contains just enough vetiver to let you know it's there and ground the whole thing with an earthy layer. Needless to say, once I pulled myself away from the scent of the lather, the Manaslu glided effortlessly over my hollywood mug to leave it übersmooth. Two passes found me BBS and ready for work. Now if I can just stay focused until we go out for sushi tonight! He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.
