I woke to a bright clear lovely autumn day, so with that kind of start I couldn't fail with my SOTD, well I didn't a superb two pass BBS shave.

A very nice shave with the J A Hellberg this morning. I know I keep saying it but this razor is really, really nice to use. It’s incredibly sharp and smooth and I love the shape of the blade. This is probably my favourite shaver at the moment. I did rush it a little, though, as I was in a bad mood. I had an argument with my 14 year old son last night over a job not done right and his petulant attitude. My father would have hit me in some manner, or taken his belt off and whipped me with it, but I slam doors and use my Recruit Instructor voice.
I stewed on it all night, swearing to cancel the camping trip planned for Friday. As I said, this resulted in a bad shave and a bad start to the day.
Funny thing was, one of the prisoners came in to the Education centre where I work and asked to photocopy a piece of paper. On it were written ‘sayings’ or ‘proverbs’ about anger and revenge and grudges, such as ‘To carry a grudge is like being stung to death by one bee’ and ‘Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.’
Of course, as you may have guessed, when I came home tonight after work I apologized to my son and told him I loved him. Now we’re planning our camping trip again and talking about playing a video game together.
I don’t know, am I just sensitive to random things that happen and link them to my needs or is something being ‘pushed’ here? (don't answer that, it's rhetorical...)

Woke up late and feeling lazy about it, so no shave today. Despite that, let me say that there are incredible shaves being shown gentlemen. I thank you all!

I did not get it was your first shave with a straight razor. In this case, I think you did a very good job and you simply need to keep on practicing. You will never regret the time spent learning how to use a straight razor and, moreover, the impeccable result you always get when compared to the rest of shavers. Double thumb up to you!
