Thanked: 485Wednesday
Just a quick shave this morning of the neck area, as I’m still going for the scruffy bohemian look. It’s not actually noticeable yet, though the moustache etc is coming along just fine. You would NOT believe the tiny, tiny amount of Body Shop Macca Root shaving cream I used today (as I was only shaving the neck). Seriously, it wasn’t even there; it didn’t even hardly exist; yet it still made a whole bowl of lather. It was just crazy talk! If you’ve got BS shave cream, try it, a really small amount, it’s amazing. I used Bay Rum aftershave and hair tonic and Burberry ‘The Beat’ EDT.
(hey, BTW, give me your opinion on these boots, thumbs up or thumbs down? I have the H Hudson ‘Herman’ boots and they are superb, but I’m not sure about the heels on these…)

Razor - Gillette Fat Boy set at 6
Blade - Fresh Astra SP
Soap - Arko stick
Brush - SOC 2 band badger
Post - Alum block followed by Thayers witch hazel
Switched it up today by using a DE and face lathering. Shave was crisp and clean, very satisfying in an industrial sort of way. It lacked the panache of using a straight but the end result was as good. Can't argue the result though.

Thanked: 1185I have enough SE razors to ride me out until the end of the week but I just had a jones for a straight razor shave and a great one it was! The SE razors give a fine shave but it just doesn't seem like a proper shave if stropping is not involved.
