    Thanks giving night shave. I did some honing last night. 2 Japanese, a Torrey and the Les Croix.

    Sandlewood Uber creates a rich and creamy lather.

    Happy Thanksgiving to ALL

    Default Sun November 18th - Sat November 24th

    Prep: 7 mile run. Iced coffee from family mart. Warm shower.
    Razor: 4/8 Maine Barber Supply Co.
    Brush: Van Der Hagen Boar Brush
    Soap&Cream: Williams w/ AoS Unscented Shaving Cream
    Strop: SRD 3in Black Latigo w/ Poly Webbing
    Shave: 3 passes WTG & 2 XTG passes
    AS: Brut
    ASB: AoS Unscented
    Cologne: Armani Code Sport
    Result: Had a good run I got rained on on the last mile but I didn't let that put a damper on my run. I'm training for the Okinawa marathon in February. My shave didn't go as good as my run but I made the best of it. I think the razor need a little touch up, but I'll wait to send it out after the holidays. I was having trouble getting the water ratio correct with the Williams so I just improvised and added some AoS shave cream to the mix and that did the trick. It's my Friday so my family and I had Thanksgiving all ready. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!

    well figured id give this a try , sorry no pics as for some reason im having a problem uploading lately , so here it goes !

    Pre-Shave= hot shower while brush and soap soak in hoy water
    Razor= Boker Stainless Steel 5/8
    Bowl= Cheapo ceramic with lid
    Soap= Proraso (green)
    Brush= Heinrich Badger
    After-Shave= Proraso (oatmeal , aftershave lotion )

    Well after eating some well cooked turkey and fixings i figured thought " what could make a good day even better ? " and from there to the strop i went !! From there it was hot shower while i soaked my brush/soap , in some hot water in preparation of my 3rd straight razor shave .

    After my shower i eagerly awaited for the steam to leave the bathroom so i could see what i was doing and while waiting i lifted the lid on my soap bowl and an aroma of the Proraso came to my noise as i know really couldnt wait for the mirror to clear so i could start my shave . Finally a clear view ! I dipped my brush into the soap and whipped up a nice lather in the lid as i held it upside down and applied it to my face , neck , and chin . aaaahhh a smooth sensation and feel to my face but no so good taste as i licked my lip ..lol..

    I grabbed my razor and away i went , still trying to learn my first pass pulled some hair but i made my adjustments and a clean smooth pass followed , and i continued to the rest of my right side almost in the same process with each pass getting better and better , and finally the neck last .. Not being as proficient on my neck as the rest of my mug i had one little spot of irritation and after a good wipe down with a warm wet towl i then applied the Proraso after shave cream to calm it down , and with that i sit here and try to describe my shave while smelling fresh and clean and hope you all had a wonderful day /shave like i have today !!

    Simple Shave for a day on the go to visit family members

    Before there were pilgrims there were the English who settled in this area. Perhaps the first turkey day occurred at the Berkley Plantation near the location where I took this photo.

    Friday

    Not a bad shave with the De Pews this morning, on a scale of 1 to 10 I’d give it maybe a 7.5 as far as the edge is concerned. I doubt I’ll ever get this edge to be really good. The soap was so-so, I’m becoming a lazy soap maker I know. The scent of the Floïd when well with the scent of the Pine and Cedarwood.

    A busy day at work where I knocked up a report this afternoon on one of our programs. Unfortunately I AM rather critical in it, but toned it down with constant use of the words ‘possibly’ ‘maybe’ ‘I feel’ ‘A more positive outcome may be able to be achieved’ etc etc. My problem is I can’t keep my big mouth shut and it’s an arrogant big mouth too, but always right of course…

    Today’s workout started off feeling easy, then went to ridiculously hard, I think the heat caught up with me. A little while ago I thought it would be a piece of the proverbial (is that a uniquely Aussie saying?) to get down to 73 in 80 days (i.e. lose 6.1 kilos) but now I’m not so sure. Six days to go and I’ve still got almost 6 kilos to loose. I’m building muscle too though, which of course makes it harder

    I hope you had a great week, I’m off rock climbing again tomorrow with the son.
