Hi guys! Today's shave of the day is my 1000th post here on SRP. I know that's not a huge achievement around these parts but I'm happy to have finally made it.
I hope I've made a positive contribution to the forum during the last 3 years - this place has certainly had a huge impact upon me. Its been a real privilege to share this fantastic hobby with such a fine group of gentlemen. To the next 1k!
Razor: 6/8 William Rodgers 'Magbel'
Cream: TOBS Lavender

Pre: Truefitt & Hill Pre-Shave Oil

Thanked: 485Monday
Back to work for a rest after an extremely exhausting weekend. Three hours were spent indoor bouldering on Saturday, with the resulting muscle soreness completely out of control. What a workout! Sunday was spent trying to fix a door lock on my car that now refuses to operate; hence the two back doors are now tied together with rope. Increasing frustration at trying to get the door to close resulted in an almost insanely manic door slamming fit and hence the rear vision mirror decided to drop off. The mirror had been removed by yours truly on the last camping trip to aid shaving, and on that particular day took around two hours to re-affix. This time it took around an hour. I hate cars. Then two hours was spent ‘whipper snippering’ (weed whacking) the back ‘lawn’ (which used to be a lawn of sorts in pre-drought times, but now, as it borders a farmer’s paddock, is essentially little more than an extension of said paddock sans cows. The ‘grass’ (rye grass) was head height (I kid you not).
After that, a beer or two was had, along with another attempt to fix an errant hot water tap on the coaxing of the wife, which only made it worse (the tap, not the wife) and resulted in an argument with said wife, which only made it worse (the wife, not the tap).
I need, I think, to employ a live-in handy man...or woman. I’ve always liked the idea of a French maid. I wonder if you can get French handy-maids, with the apron and such, but doing handyman jobs rather than cooking, cleaning and scrubbing backs in the bath. I’ll still allow her to scrub my back in the bath, as long as she fits in tap fixing and gardening too. And car door fixing...
So, on to the shave. It was Wade and Butcher day today and I relished it. However, relishing it did little to result in an actual good shave, as the lather was thin and the opposite of cushioning and I suffered a cut on the chin.
Pashana told me in no uncertain terms that I had suffered a cut, which I already knew (so thanks for that Pashana).
Pashana is a bit of a bastard for telling you you've cut yourself. In fact 'telling you' isn't quite the right term. It's more like a violent forceful intervention. Pashana says things like "CARL!!!, you're an IDIOT!!!. You are being foolish and stupid! You need to stop cutting yourself, me and all the guys are worried. Stop it, stop it now!"
Other after shaves are more polite, they go "Humph [clearing throat], excuse me Sir...but might I just mention if allowed to that you seem to appear to have cut yourself Sir; might I attend to that for you?". The last part is offered with an almost booored manner, to give the message that one doesn't want to offend Sir (as otherwise one may not have a job).

Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
