Thanked: 15Ok so it was not the best shave to ever be done by any means but today was my best shave I have done myself. I started out with the nice hot shower while soaking my VDH brush and deluxe soap in the nice hot sink. Then out of the shower to my freshly stroped Wade and Butcher 7/8 hallow ground with a Spanish tip. I start to load my brush with lather to find...... omg perfect lather this is going to feel good. Then the razor did the rest, separating hair from my face like a viking cleaving his opponent in two. Just one simple passes on both sides of my face and I was close enough to BBS that it made me giggle a bit. I was even to get 90% of my chin and odd neck areas and 80% of my upper lip (both spots that are the bane of my razors existence) before having to grab the 5 bladed terror from its mug and finish the job. All and all it was the best job I have done so I am happy, so i finished the job off with witch hazel and the rest is a story for another time.
A married man should forget his mistakes. There is no use in two people remembernig the same thing.

Thanked: 1072Heirloom Shave
Strop: MickR's Roo Hide
Brush: Comoy Badger
Soap: Proraso Aloe & Green Tea
Razor: Long life 11/16
DE: Gillette Tech
Astringent: Thayer's
Balm: Nivea Replenishing
A/S: Wahl Bay Rum
Shaved with a couple of my family treasures tonight.
The Long Life razor belonged to my Grandfather on my Mother's side and the Gillette DE belonged to my Grandfather on my Father's side.
The shave was a little disappointing though. The Long Life needs a touch up.
A good excuse to get to know my new Norton 4/8 and Naniwa 12K.
Thanks for the great posts and pics boys

Have a Great Tuesday Gents!
I see you are still rockin the Pannacrema Bill. I tried the Casablanca with a dab of Salter French Vetiver cream and wow was that a nice lather. And I am sure you would like the vetiver scent!Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity. ~Lucius Annaeus Seneca
