Good morning y'all! I saw the news reports of the blizzard that hit the folks in the Northeast, and I hope everyone who was in the middle if the blizzard managed to stay safe and warm.

This morning's SOTD was chosen by my wife. It's overcast and dreary here in South Texas, so she recommended sweet smelling stuff.

    Prep - hot shower
Soap - TBS Maca Root cream
    Brush - M&F, classic 1xl
Razor - Cadman and Sons, Bengall 6/8
Post - cold water, alum, Kiehl's lotion
EDT - Bond No.9, Chez Bond

    Strop - J.R. Torrey paddle
Prep - Hot water + Shave towel
    Pre-Shave - Musgo Real Glyce
    Brush - Vulfix bristle
    Soap - Palmolive
Mug - James Kent "Old Foley" scuttle
Razor - 11/16 Joseph Elliot concave
Post - Thayers + Nivea balm

Small nick, first in awhile. Not as good of a shaver as my other Elliot silver steel but not "bad" by any means. Still enjoying the Palmolive

    Tuesday

    • Razor: Jernbolaget Frameback, leather scales, forced patina using citrus juice
    • Cream: Body Shop Macca Root
    • Hair Tonic: Pashana Bay Rum
    • Eau de Toilette: ‘Whisky’ by Evaflor

Nice shave with the Jernbolaget this morning. I now have a very nice edge on this razor. After two passes I was certainly GDS, ready for inspection. The Body Shop Macca Root lathers almost too easily. This has to be the cream for newbies who have trouble making a decent lather and want to concentrate on razor technique and be unhampered by a poor lather.

    12th February 2013

    Location: Dublin 3, Dublin, Ireland
Prep: Hot shower + cold splash
    Soap: Valobra Shaving Stick
Brush: Taylor of Old Bond Street Travel Badger Brush
Razor: Stainless Steel Dovo 5/8 Round Point Ebony
Strop: Tony Miller Travel Horsehide Leather and Linen
    Shave: 1 pass WTG
    Astringent: Alum
A/S: TOBS Mr Taylor Aftershave + TOBS Mr Taylor Aftershave Balm

Exactly as yesterday... I'm not that happy with the Valobra stick. The standard "crema di sapone purissima" is definitely a different and better story...
