    Tuesday

    Razor | De Pews| Cream | O Melhor | After Shave | Lavanda

I gave the De Pews 20 laps or so on the Shapton 16k yesterday and the result was quite good. I still don’t know if it’s perfect. I’m really annoyed with myself that I caused the hone wear on the Bengalls. At least it’s a learning experience. From now on I’ll ALAYS use tape. The softness of the steel on the Bengalls is really evident to be in comparison to my other razors. I used the last of the O Melhor today; I think I’ve had that tube for maybe a year.

Feeling a little bored today, I’m on holidays for a week but I have no money to actually DO anything. I may do a workout and then maybe write some letters…

Hope you’re all having a good week so far.

Sounds like you had a great birthday though. I think you should call in sick today. Have a pot of coffee and some greasy bacon and eggs and go back to bed.
I think it was the smokes that actually did it. My wife and son asked me if I remember how LOUD I was. I get very LOUD when I drink...I'm actually on holidays at the moment, so I can recover with ease...

Took a great edge after a little persuasion, and a nice smooth shave ensued.
I'd take a guess at an Eric Anton Berg, the tang looks similar in shape to one I have. I find the Swedish razors to have really hard steel...

    Strop - Jemico
Prep - Hot water + shave towel
    Pre-Shave - Musgo Glyce
    Brush - Dad's old brush
    Soap - Proraso
    Razor - Japanese? frameback
    Post - Thayers + Nivea

I set the bevel on this razor with a coarse DMT, and then after that I honed it with 3 grits of lapping film on glass. Finished up with 1 and .5 micron diamond paste on balsa and leather. First time trying the lapping film, and the blade has a slight bit of tug but causes no irritation. Gonna give it some more of the .5 micron before next use. Hope everyone has a good week waiting for them

Carl, I'm not sure what it is, but I know the edge needs some more refinement. It is really sharp, but lacks slightly in the smooth department. I just couldn't pass it up for the embarrassingly low price....

    What'd you hone it with?
