Got this razor a few weeks ago, now I have 3 of them. This one has a funny grind by the edge, but just like all the rest, it honed up beautifully and provided a stunning shave!

Hot Shower, CV Heljestrand Mk4, VDH Boar, Mitchell's Wool Fat, Skin Bracer, CK Obsession, Stache Bomb

This is one of those razors that seems to just get sharper with use. I've not honed it since I don't remember when and as long as I give it a good stropping, it continues to deliver top-quality shaves. Ordered up the Kindle this morning so I should have cool toys to play with this weekend. Decided to go with the Paperwhite 3G. Adjustable font and great lighting will be good for these old eyes.

My Burrell Top Flight was my first razor; a really spiky spike 5/8, and really sharp. I think the wings logo on these is really cool. It seems to be perennially sharp...

Are you going for a seven day set of Top Flights (i.e. different widths etc)? I wonder if that exists? So what about a nice seven day set of Top Flights (all different widths, ect) with ivory or bone scales?

    Strop: MickR's Roo Hide

    Soap: L'Occitane Cade
    Razor: Dovo Special 6/8
    Astringent: Alum
    Balm: Nivea

The edge on the Dovo tonight was pretty good, not fantastic but pretty good.
Which is just what I was hoping for.
A new 5x1 inch Thuri arrived yesterday, and I was looking for a candidate to try it on.
still a comfortable 2 pass shave though.

11/16" seems to be the common width on these. I did luck into one that is 13/16", well balanced and maneuverable for such a big blade. Not really trying for a seven day set, just picking them up if the mood hits me.

Pre : Hot water, L'Oreal hydra sensitive 'foaming' wash, Proraso pre-post cream
    Soap : Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush : Progress Vulfix 404
    Razor : Gillette "7'O'Clock"
    Blade : Personna
Post : Proraso pre-post cream, cold water, Nivea moisturising balm

    Finish : BBS

    Comments :
The razor is an eBay purchase. It was advertised as having "3 or 4 bent teeth". Yes there are, but they're the end teeth that are bent inwards, no major deal imho. The razor seemed a tad aggressive, although that could just be the fact that I had an extra days stubble... hmm. The razor itself was advertised as being a Gillette "7'O'Clock", however I can't find any information about these razors to help with identifying its year of manufacture. It unscrews at the base, and the head comes off. The Gillette diamond is evident on the underneath of the comb, and there's "Made in England" in the opposite corner... that's it. No serial numbers or anything else. The razor is a good weight though, and feels very well made. Gillette should be ashamed of the plastic throwaway rubbish they're pumping out nowadays, along with the audacity to peddle the stuff as "The best a man can get".
