Your post needs grammatical correction. You are not an expert psychiatrist, whose opinion was enlisted. As such please stay your ground and discontinue to hurt others sentiments.

@AIDROOS I'm one of the last people to make waves around here. I get along with everyone. Outback was disturbed by what you were saying and I think a lot of it has to do with this comment...
"When the Shavette can provide a clean shave, and remain a less headache-causing option over SR, why waste my time?"
Keep in mind this IS a Straight Razor Forum. All members of this community enjoy the maintenance and shaving with Straight Razors. We don't think it's "A Headache" or we too wouldn't do it.
With comments like that in a Straight Razor Forum you are asking/Baiting/Wanting to cause trouble. I recommend you find a Wetshaving forum to go to and when you learn to enjoy the Straight Razor, then come back. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 0People are unnecessarily attacking the equipment. Most of us have gotten a clean shave with even Gillette fusion system since 2008/9. The post asked for Shavette and straight edge system. I answered closed ended. 7 members are making a mockery of it. I like a straight for occasional usage. Every tool has it's pro/con, let's move on and leave it at that. Any my opinion with indifferent views, is not an indication of being lazy. It is outright rude to attack, lie, and label another person/member for your intrinsic issues, which are not related to me.
You gasman, made an assumption that I did not use a straight, and linked another user's post to mine. This how this thread begin to roll. All of this is pointless. Neither you gained anything not I. I lost time, instead of a welcome.
Let us please end this discussion here.

AIDROOS,
Welcome. I don't believe I got the chance to say that before but I want to make it clear that you are welcome. I think that your stay here may have gotten off to a rocky start and I for one find that unfortunate. I would like to say that it seems that you are conflating issues and making this about equipment. My take from reading over your posts is that there is a certain tone to your comments that spurs the kind of reaction you have received. I'm not trying to disparage you or at least not you alone. It is easy in this form of communication to post thoughts that are wide open to interpretation. The reader then is wide open to respond in like kind. We are all adults and we all know that and I don't intend to condescend to you but still, each community takes a little time to acclimate to. It's not as though we don't get snarky with each other on occasion or give each other the business. Mike and I just had a little good natured sparring match in another thread. He ribbed me, I ribbed him back...but we know each other. We have for a few years now. Perhaps your comments were misread, misconstrued or misunderstood. Given time perhaps the same words wouldn't be.
However, I just looked through the entirety of your posts and I can see that there is a trend towards reactionary tone. Take this one for instance:
That one is just plain smart assed. In my humble opinion that is not a good way to start off. Take that for what it's worth. I will submit that the reactions you have gotten were colored more by that than by what you've stated about your choice of equipment. Your comments I think are evidence of this. It is quite plain that this is a site related primarily to straight razors and all things related. It should logically follow that that is the banner we carry. We don't necessarily hate other means of shaving but that's not our home team so to speak. Using that metaphor, if someone invited you to their house to watch a game and it was clear what team they were fans of you wouldn't want to trash their team. You might venture to chirp back and forth by mutual consent in a good natured spirit of competition if and when you know them well enough but you are not there yet.
Now...you could rebutt everything I have just said and we could spar back and forth ad infinitum which seems to be more the rule than the exception on the internet. I am going to petition you though as someone who would like to be your friend to consider this the abomination of a friendly bystander; an olive branch so to speak. Whatever part I have played in your stay being upset I apologize for and I hope I can speak for the community in that regard. I hope that you in turn will reciprocate by accepting that olive branch. I would further request that we start over on a better foot.
That being said, hello. I'm Paul. Welcome.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17
