Default I don't want to say I lied

So I toss out some chump change on a razor I thought I had no chance of winning on the Bay, and I snagged it. Prior to this win I 'promised' my ladyfriend, 'no more razors.' I have enough...really....but she is going to be the one to find the USPS white box in the mail and I need some creative excuses for not exactly telling the truth, or more accurately, telling a boldface lie.

Easy. Tell her you made the purchase prior to your promise. If the time between promise and purchase is/feels too large, tell her the seller was away and didn't ship until later. It's for her own good.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Do you have a job? or doe's your lady support you 100% financially.
If she do's you have to lie,if not,why do you need to explaine anything?

Just be upfront, she shouldn't make you feel bad about it, I'm sure she's spent on something she shouldn't have. If it's really a problem agree that you both set a percentage aside from each pay or a certain amount (sounds like you might have a common goal to reach). And if she wants something or you do and have the funds by all means get it, if you don't you don't get it period.

Yep, I work and we split costs 50-50, but she is encouraging me to save for moving among other things and frankly, I am not a saver....so some of my discretionary income is supposed to go towards our future....a place where I don't live.

When I mentioned this exact thing to a friend of mine, she said mention how much she spends on make-up, hair products, face creams, nails, getting nails done etc...let alone clothes and shoes...in the same manner she doesn't have to explain her grooming requirements to you, you don't have to explain yours to her.

Afterall, men can survive with one bar of soap and a pack of Bic disposable razors...can she?

(insert proper amount of sarcasm, and always with your eyes lowered, and your hands at your sides)

Ah, the blame game, such a slippery friend! One moment you're steering towards a fight, the next, you're forced to have make-up sex. In Dutch, we say honesty takes longest. I disagree, just tell her you bought more razors despite your agreement not to, that takes about 2 seconds

By the way, this is quite an old thread. I can't even remember what the OP did?

Tell her it was a BOGO from a previous seller. Or one that they forgot to send in another shipment.
