Thanked: 459My favorite razor of any that I've ever used is an old fried. dennert razor. It is pefectly dead nuts straight, very fine grained, extremely hollow (with a tiny bevel), but with a little bit of bulk in the spine. It seems to get functionally sharp from anything, and very keen from a proper fine razor stone, it loves a linen and it loves the strop and will go for a very long time before it needs the stone again just from strop and leather. Every little bit about it is just right except for a small bit of corrosion and a little scratching around that from me, before I knew what I was doing - and tried to pick the corrosion off with a carbide scribe - that could easily be rectified.

I doubt that it's particularly valuable, and it was the second razor I ever bought, and I paid $65 for it at the time I got it (which I thought was a princely sum back then). I'm now down to three razors, after going through probably 36 or so of them, and it is still the only razor that I've ever had that I wouldn't ever sell for any reason. Three years ago when I made that post, I was mired in RAD and was in a "oh, i think this one might be my favorite" mode, and now there is absolutely no doubt. The only problem is that I can't find another one of it to have a spare in case I would ever do something stupid.
