i have done it in less than 10 but then i got to thinking : i started str8 shaving to relax so i slowed it down some to about 20-30 min straight shaving should be enjoyable and relaxing its not a race

I'm 30-40 minutes including shower, stropping, lathering, some more stropping, cut a few arm hairs to make sure the razor is up to snuff...3 passes to BBS, then clean-up, wash-up, tidy up, and then sneak another peak at the shiny steel I just used to shave my face!

I get a nice close shave, so I only do the above routine every other day.

My "off" nights I usually just skip right to sneaking a peak at the shiny steel....

Turn off the NPR and savor the sound of whiskers being sliced from your face.

that is a pleasant sound isn't it... nothing like honing, and stropping your own blades then listening to them slick the whiskers away... gives one a sense of accomplishment...

Little more than 20 mins if I take my time with the straight, 15 mins if I'm in a hurry. With the DE I can usually get it done in a little less than 10 mins...

I am also a newbee (this is my first post!) and the whole process takes more than 30 minutes. Although I expect the I will improve with the practice, I do not thing it will take less than 15 minutes.

Yesterday I cheated by using shaving oil topped with aloe vera gel instead of lather. It cut my time in half and the shave was one of my closest. So I guess from now on it's oil for fast shaves, lather for more enjoyment.

(Mind you, I normally take 30-40 minutes, so I can probably speed up my lather shaves greatly too.)

Since I started shaving with a straight razor, I prefer to take my time. I enjoy it more than I used to enjoy shaving with a cartridge razor. I actually look forward to shaving now. 30 to 40 minutes is about my average, but the time is deliberately long just because it's my relaxation time.
