20-30 mins, but getting better. I've been having issues with my soap/cream combo lately not having a good consistency and causing the blade to bounce.

I voted 10-20 minutes (just the shaving, not the showering, stropping, etc.)
Just because I can shave in 5 minutes doesn't mean I enjoy it.
Shaving is for a moment of relaxation at the end of the day. There is no point in rushing it imoTil shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 6I can do it in less then 10 minutes now, but why would you? Why destroy the time of pleasure? So usally if I do 3 passes I guess it takes from 10-20 minutes.
I like to work it slow.

I am still pretty new so I don't think I am nearly as fast as the experienced members here, but I still get through quick enough. If we are talking about everything including preshave, lather, stropping, I would say I am around 15-17 mins. The actual shave takes me just under 10 if you dont include pre or post. However, this is only my daily routine. When I have more time, like going on a date or going out on friday or saturday night, I usually take around 20-25 minutes because I do a third pass, and spend more time letting the lather soak in, using a hot towel, that kinda thing.

I assume we're talking about the whole process, not just the actual shave which takes maybe ten minutes. The preperation included would make more like 15-20 minutes. I look forward to it everyday. That's my time....

I agree. When I was working, I had to get ready for work and get out of the house in a hurry so I used a safety razor and got the beard off (badly) in about two minutes. Now that I'm retired, one of the best parts of the day is shaving with one of my twenty or so straights and I do the whole nine yards in 20-30 minutes or as long as I damn well feel like it. The shave is a hell of a lot better, too.

Thanked: 1262bah! it must have taken me 50 or so minutes today from the time i washed my face, stropped, shaved to cleanup. Was listening to NPR and doing my thing.
It only felt like i shaved for 10 minutes. I might have to go back to the DE during the work week

Apart from the showering, it takes me close to 15-20 minutes to lather, strop, a 2 pass have (xtg, atg), alum bar, aftershave, and post-shave strop.
If it's for a super special occasion, I'll do a three pass shave, and that will take me just over 20 minutes.

Thanked: 735I'm 30-40 minutes including shower, stropping, lathering, some more stropping, cut a few arm hairs to make sure the razor is up to snuff...3 passes to BBS, then clean-up, wash-up, tidy up, and then sneak another peak at the shiny steel I just used to shave my face!
I get a nice close shave, so I only do the above routine every other day.
My "off" nights I usually just skip right to sneaking a peak at the shiny steel....
