I like to flip a balisong knife now and then. There's a saying that goes "Don't flip naked" for obvious reasons. It could apply here too

    DON'T SHAVE NAKED!

Lesson learned today: Just stop shaving when someone enters the bathroom.

My mother came in to get something (now you understand why I don't shave commando :P), then she tapped my back before she got out.

"Mom... that wasn't your smartest move"

    She agreed.

Make sure your SWMBO is not within sight or screaming distance. There will usually be blood, you will blame her, she will think you are an even bigger dumb shmuck than she usually does. Lose lose.

Shaving with a low blood glucose can be very interesting. I get the shakes during & after an episode, so it is hairy scary anyway. Add to that a loss of ability to discern detail & a massive drop in your blood's clotting ability & you end up with a shave that can end you up in the emergency department for both low glucose & blood loss. No, it has not happened yet, but I am sure it will. Probably when Silver is there to take the pish too...

Shaving commando is the only way to go! Get out of shower, wrap towel round self & lather up. It is almost guaranteed the towel will come adrift as you scrape away. Now I just have a quick rub down & leave the towel on the floor. Giving SWMBO another reason to distract me.

I'll leave the telephone in the other room from now on while shaving. I was waiting for the wife to call and brought the phone along to the bathroom. I did get a call, and I also got nicked as I was concentrating on not cutting myself. I'm grateful for alum and torn TP.

I normally shut my bathroom door when I shave and everyone knows not to disturb me when tthat is the case. No disturbances.

Straight shaving is like riding a motorcycle. You should never engage upon either while mentally distracted or physically impaired.
