I'm in the same boat as Hillie- I LOVE shaving, but because it takes so much time I don't always get to shave as often as I might like...which can be a pain, because sometimes I need to be clean shaven FAST....

Thanked: 267After about 2 years I still like the idea of a great shave. If you think you are going tired of it just don't shave for a couple of days, IT'S HELL ON EARTH! One good thing is that I seem to be only buying what I can use in a year or so, which is good! There is nothing like a good BBS shave.
Take Care,
Richard

I wouldn't really say it has become mundane. It is more part of my daily routine now than the nostalgia of the first few weeks. However, it is a part of my routine that I look forward to and enjoy, rather than it being a chore that I did when I had to (which is what it was with a Mach3). I suspect this is how I will always feel. I don't do it cuz it's a novelty, I do it because I enjoy it.

I don't ever see it getting mundane.
The pain from using a disposable was mundane.
The cords and cleaning and cheese grader-ness of an electric was mundane.
I've only been shaving with a straight for about a month or so but there is a big difference in the feel of it. Mainly...it doesn't hurt to shave anymore!

After a year, none of the thrill has worn off. I get closer shaves than I did at first, takes less time and I hardly ever nick myself any more. What's to be mundane?

In order to prevent this from happening I change my hardware around ocasionally. My mrs onced asked why am I constantly trying different things in my routine? I answered that there are two reasons: 1) Keeping shaving from becoming routine; and 2) find what the best thing for me is. Right now I am still looking for the best shave cream for me.

I still enjoy SR shaving and the challenge of honing various ebay specials. I don't think I could ever go back to any other method of shaving and be happy with it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It's never become mundane for me, I enjoy the ritual aspects of SR shaving and then after I'm finished shaving and feel the results I love it even more.

I'll never stop experimenting with wet shaving in some form or another. Keeps things interesting.
