Thread: do you go for a bss everytime?

Not every time but I have been trying to get BBS on my neck area. My razor is certainly capable but I lack the skill necessary to guide it thus far. I'm able to do one strip ATG starting from above my Adam's apple to the point of my chin. The rest hasn't come yet but I'm taking it real slow.

I am still on the wild upswing of the learning curve, with only a few months under me belt. Any time I GO for a bbs, I **** it up. Every time I JUST SHAVE, i get real good results with no irritation to speak of. I am getting a higher percentage of BBS each time, but like I said, any time I TRY for it, I suck.
Just be careful. It's an art, not a contest.

A shave that doesn't result in BBS is a failure. I'll take a bit of burn over the feel of stubble any day.

As mentioned, sometimes you just nail it-BBS with no irritation, you did the prep, the razor was lightsaber sharp, used light pressure, your lather was in The Zone. Those are the shave you live for. Other times it may not go quite that well.

As I write this, my face is sticky-smooth from this morning's shave. I'll be rubbing my face all day. The 12 hour BBS shave is one of the (many) great things about shaving with a straight.

I've found that I can get a bbs with 2 passes wtg and xtg. There is a couple spots on my kneck where my hairs grow a different direction that I haven't figured out how to get.
That being said, I DON'T shave every day. Usually I shave about 3 times a week. I used to shave every day with a disposable, but that just destroyed my face.

I don't go for BBS every time. I typically do two passes. On my cheeks, I go down and then up. For the chin/mouth area, I usually go down (WTG) and then TTC (towards the chin; a hybrid with/across/against TG pass).

If I go for BBS I usually end up with a little irritation. I've got sensitive skin. I'm amazed that I can even shave as close as I do.

I used to do a "service" shave every week day, WTG only just to get rid of "beard" then I'd skip a friday night shave (night shaver here), and go for BBS for church.

Then I went and got a girlfriend, and she complains if I'm not BBS, so... a lot of time I'm back to using a cartridge razor now, as I can get BBS in about 5 minutes with that. I still do straight somewhat frequently and want to get back to doing it all the time, but usually I need to schedule about 1.5 hrs by the time I do full shower and prep etc...

The BBS satisfaction factor is an awesome feeling that carries you for hours. Face feels better, looks better, and is better off, so why step back?

Its hard to settle for anything less when you have so many BBS shaves under your belt.

I go for bbs every time I shave. I suppose it has a little something to do with my OCD.

I try, but seldom achieve it.
