Add in some diagonal lines on that chart & you have my beard map
Standard 2 or 3 pass shave doesn't do it for me. I do 4 passes ie usual 3 but one extra XTG in reverse of previous.
Adapt the shave to your own face.

One pass. WTG everywhere except my chin, which is XTG.

Thanked: 993Most days, one pass and touch ups. Touch up the jowls underneath the jawline, that's it.
Special days, two passes. W and then A.

only in the direction that is ergonomic/comfortable for the hand, which is roughly wtg on my cheeks, and roughly xtg on my neck.
and i generally lather once, but might do a couple passes in the same direction before moving on the the next area.

I begin with WTG and then XTG or ATG, depending which part of my face I am shaving.
The starter of this topic refers to "that super close, smooth-as-a-babies-butt shave". It is hard to believe that one can get that with only WTG.
