Thread: The one pass shave

Mostly one pass for this new guy. I have been at this for a month or so, and two passes everyday is a bit much for me now. It's interesting to hear about the neck irritation. I have the same situation. In my case, (and I just now noticed it!) it seems like my hair goes in a different direction in the area that gets irritated.

Thanked: 30Thanks to the OP! I also integrated in one handed for the one hand one pass shave. Currently if I break/maim my left hand, I will be in good shaving shape! Working over the next week or two on the one handed one pass switch shave! That should have me comfy enough to stay on the straight road unless I break/maim both hands!

A minimum of two passes each day. 3 is even better
I guess I could get by with a one pass shave, I am after all a Norwegian with blonde whiskers.
But nah, shaving is an important daily ritual in my life, and I enjoy doing it as good as I can.

Thanked: 13245If I am not testing blades
I can get a DFS with one multi-directional pass.. This means I damn well know my face and which direction the razor needs to be going to get close without irritation and only one pass...
I personally consider this the ultimate shave, as there is NO irritation at all the shave is smooth and close and lasts well into the night, it is also a huge waste of lather Muhahahaha....

I also do a one pass multi-directional shave. It took a few months to figure it out, and now i get a a very smooth shave with little effort, no discomfort, and in short time.

Yes. There are only two razors that I have that I can honestly say will come very close to a one pass BBS. And those two are at different end of the spectrum. One is the Feather Artist Club with a Proguard blade. I've done a one WTG pass that was more than adequate for a work day shave and very close to a BBS. The other which is a consistantly great shaver is a 1918 Gillette '04. This also with a WTG pass is a real excellent shave. Almost 100yrs apart.

As I’ve posted many times, I have some handshaking and it lessens in the afternoon and evening. So I need to do a two pass shave to meet standards at work and the two pass will last at least 24 hours!
I can get a clean, comfortable smooth shave that will last standards for 12 hours with any razor I own with a ‘Careful’ single pass!
I always like when Lynn posts; "Have Fun". Because that's what it's all about!!

I've tried a one pass ATG shave, and it worked pretty well. I just didn't enjoy it.
