Thanked: 4942Anyone have a different weekend routine?
I know for me, that when the weekend hits that I really enjoy the hot towel treatment when I'm shaving. I usually don't take the extra time during the week and it is just a super relaxing part of the regiment for me. In addition, I try to use one of the razors from my personal rotation when I can like one of the customs or razors I have culled out because they shave so well. I also like to have a nice hot cup of coffee that I can enjoy during the shave. This is really my time!
How about you guys? Weekends any different? Razors? Suds? Routine?

Thanked: 114The weekend is when I usually break out my 18th century gear, slow down, and really savor the moment. Have fun!

In the weekend first a breakfast with a cup of coffee, watching some television and having a relaxing morning start. This takes about two hours.
After this ritual I have a shave that takes an hour, including a long hot shower.

Thanked: 993The weekend is when I get most of my shop time in. I can only average an hour a night during the week, so the weekend is my time. After a good day in the shop, it's really nice to come upstairs around 4 or 5 and spend a minute thinking about it: I like to ponder the soap first, which helps dictate the brush. When that's done, I wander over to the razors and think - is it American steel, a Sheffie or Solingen. During the week it's grab and go. So I guess my weekend routine has a bit more postulating in it, and I piece together my shave based on what I'd really like. You all understand (my friends don't get it) that somedays you just "feel" like having a coticule edge, etc.

When I was working the weekends were special and I always took the time to go the whole nine yards. Now that I'm retired every day is the weekend so I can pretty much indulge whenever I want.

The weekend are when I really focus on on my straight razors. I usually have time to relax and enjoy my shaves. I take the time to enjoy.

For me weekend = time. Hence, uberlather, good music, and taking some extra time to do touch-ups and ensure the old BBS. It always kills me that I look my best when no ones looking.
My coffee comes after. If it's a great weekend, it'll be a coffee and cigar : ).

I work from home so my days are similar on the weekend. It just depends on what I have going. If I'm shooting a wedding I have less time on the weekend, as thats when they usually occur.

I'm still starting out, so weekends are kind of experimental time for me. Try different soaps/creams, prep, shavin techniques, different stropping, whatever... Sometimes it works out great... sometimes not so much. During the week I have to stick to what I know works, and get it done
