Thanked: 1185Remember the Boker from my SOTD yesterday that I said had an ever so slight tug? I'm convinced it was all my imagination. As I was taping the spine it slipped out of my hands and as it sliced the crap out of my left ring finger I didn't feel a tug at all.
I've heard other people report injuries from grabbing for falling razors and I've always been convinced that when I dropped one I'd be smart enough to let it fall. This was just a reflex and just before I commenced to bleed all over the counter in my shave cave, I thought to myself, "Gee now wasn't that just dumb as dirt?" I soldier on with a bandaid and a huge ball of toilet paper held onto the finger with electrical tape. I'm gonna OPS test the razor in a minute. The older I get, the better I was

Ok, now that we have ascertained that you survived...how did the Boker make out or did you successfully "catch" it?

Thanked: 49over confident?
Last time I used my shavette i had such a great shave i think i got a bit cocky. Cut myself on the first pass whuch i rarely ever do. Doesn't look like much now but I had a heck of time getting it to stop bleeding. Reached for my clubman nick relief...nothing. Styptic ...nothing. put pressure on it with a piece of paper towel, left the towel on and finished the pass. Thing absorbed so much blood it fell off my face. Tried it again... same thing happened so I took the styptic and used it to put some serious pressure on it for a couple of minutes. That did the trick.
I was a bit gunshy but I put some triple antibiotic on it and did three more passes. No nicks or cuts and very little irritation.Last edited by tedh75; 03-23-2014 at 07:55 PM.
