Default A straight and nothing but a straight

I am now straight shaving for about nine months. Three shaves a week.

Only if I do not have enough time I get back to a disposable. But I try to limit that as much as I can.

What I am curious about is, are there Forum members that never use anything else than a straight?

Thanks in advance for all input.

Cut-throats or DE's are my go to razors. You should get yourself a DE for those days when you're a little short on time. Ditch the Bic.

I've been using a straight for the last 8 months. I used my DE for touch-ups at first. Now it's exclusively straights for me.

If time is an issue, then I'll limit myself to two WTG passes.

I would never use a disposable. They are not welcome in my house. Nor their offspring nor their offspring's offspring. However, She (Who Must Be Obeyed) uses one. I do use a DE at times...

The only time I use disposable is when I have to fly and do not check baggage.
In that case I use the cheap Bic with one blade.

I've been shaving with nothing but straight razors , since I started using them , 5-1/2 years ago . However , I do construction work , so I don't need to be clean shaven every day . I can pretty much shave whenever I want to . If I had to shave every day , I think I could get away with just doing one pass .

I started using straight razors in January this year, and haven't used anything else since. I don't have to be clean shaven for work, so I normally shave every other day in the evening.

I'm mildly curious about DEs, but I don't intend to use disposables again (unless I go abroad and carrying a straight through customs/baggage check might be a problem.)

Regularly, I only use straights. I do have a Merkur DE for the very rare times I have no time to shave.

    I like your avatar!

I use a straight only. I generally shave daily in the evenings after work but before dinner. SWMBO uses a multi-bladed thing and how she does is beyond me. I see it sitting there caked with hair and soap...I think she does not even bother to rinse it sometimes. I guess if you use one of those things, you might as well show it no love at all

My guess is that most of us who regularly use SR's would do so all the time if given the time necessary to enjoy it. Fast and SR shaving are not usually good bedfellows. If you are in a hurry it is best to have an alternative plan. A good DE is the typical solution on this forum. My favorites are Merkur and Muhle of which I have several models. My wife confiscated my best Muhle for her legs and I will probably never get that one back. Lastly, and I am probably going to get some grief for this, a good disposable will work. I know that is anathema to most of us here, but truth be told, with a good prep and a sharp blade I can get a good wet shave with just about anything. The real issue is quality, nostalgia, and the retro feeling you get with a great SR or DE razor. A disposable is not very sexy even when you are in a rush.
