I too am ambidextrous and can do most things either right or left handed, including writing cursive. Strange human trick alert.....
I can write with both hands at the same time. Both are legible and fairly similar. But I cannot write different things at the same same time.
One thing that I've noticed in this thread, is that there are quite a few shavers on here that are disabled. My hat is off to you gentlemen for saying yes, I can.
And just to clarify, I am not disabled. My injury was a dislocation to my elbow when I was younger. Everything functions normally, but I do get tingles in my left hand if I do repeated actions.

Gentlemen, I am right handed but I have switched hands from my first shave some yeas ago. And I am glad I did. For against the grain pass on the upper lip I use both hands — I figure my Hollywood face needs my nose in place.

I use my right hand only, left hand got a little to close for comfort with EOD stuff!
But I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous...Hur Svenska stålet biter kom låt oss pröfva på.

I shave using both hands with a straight razor. I've found I have to contort myself too much to shave the left side of my face with my (dominant) right hand.
Good luck to those who use only one hand!

Thanked: 26I'm small muscle skills on the left, large muscle skills on the right, from years of playing cello on top of being left handed. I can do all sorts of finger movements of the blade on my left, but asking my arm to make one long draw down my cheek is almost too hard for it. I haven't tried the other hand, but i bet it can do the big sweep easily with the right.

I am right hand dominant but used both hands from the start of straight shaving as it's the 'right' thing to do.
My WTG & XTG passes are equally shared between my left and right hands and it feel totally natural to do it this way now. However my ATG pass has always been done entirely with my right hand and I find it entirely natural and I have no problem with vision, holding the razor or anything else.
Just lately I have took to shaving with just one ATG pass + ATG touch-ups and have been achieving perfect BBS shaves every time.
This means I now only shave with my right hand.
That's progress for youThe more we learn the less we know.

Thanked: 14i use both.
handy at work when doing things like cutting trunking if you can do it with both hands (hard to hold a full length and cut it with only a box to rest it on)

I use both hands, left hand for left side and right hand for right side WTG. Then reverse for ATG, left hand for right side and right hand for left side.
I did once try using both hands with a DE, that just didn't feel right.

For those who have problems shaving with the non dominant hand ...... a guy who used to post here, Danny Wonderful, posted a way of training the non dominant, in my case the left, hand. Take a dull razor, or if you happen to have a shavette, use that with no blade. If you don't have a dull razor (congratulations) tape the edge. When at the computer or watching TV take the fore mentioned razor and go through the motions of shaving with the non dominant hand.
I had briefly tried shaving with the left hand and could not easily coordinate my movements with what I was seeing in the mirror. Since I was fine with shaving all of my face/neck with my dominant right hand I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. A few years went by and I read Danny's post. I began practicing, no mirror, just using the shavette with no blade and getting the muscle memory within my left hand.
When I felt I had it down I went to the mirror and shaved my left side with the left hand the right side with the right. Worked a treat. I gave that a brief trial and went back to shaving with my dominant hand since I am so comfortable with that routine. If anyone wants to experiment with using the razor ambidextrously the above is a good way to accomplish the goal IME.
