Today my new strop from Tom, Sarptonn, arrived!!!
I got it unboxed and am sooooo very happy with it! I haven't got to play with it yet as the little ones are running around and the 2 yr old says whats that dad? And was climbing up on the table to check it out.
So later tonight I'll have my fun
Thanks again Tom for the deal and getting it here quickly and very well packaged

You will like that, Dave! Nice to have a variety of stropping surfaces and find what the razors like in time. I flip on a hanging strop, yet strop off of those and flip to lightly set it down spine-first for the next stroke.
    Makes for a perfect x-stroke.

I also prefer to strop seated with it. Sitting or standing, getting it at a preferred height is key, I think.
I enjoyed finding and making new strops to fit. Neil Miller was quite helpful in that regard.
In my long tenure with those, I have amassed way too many strops and panels as well as extras of many.
I should be selling a few more over time.
Nice, sturdy, and effective strops, for certain.
    Enjoy!

I am really excited to try new stroping mediums. The feel of the Roo strop is interesting, it feels "tender" for lack or a better term.
I once again can't thank you enough for putting this up for sale. I now can venture into a whole new world of razor stropping

A roo strop, nice. Wonder if it's akin to deer hide. Wonder if deer hide would make a good strop now that I think about it, and may have to find out.

I was thinking something similar after watching some Mastro Livi videos. Brain-tanned buckskin looks similar to the leather on his loom strips.

To me the feel of the Roo is very akin to a deer hide. But not quite as soft as the ones I've felt

ETA: the Roo is more like calf leather

The Roo is quite nice. Very thin and tough, yet strops smoothly with nice draw.
I don't think the narrow replacement panels are available anymore and also understand getting a decent length is hard to do as to the nature of the roo hides.

These panels had to be extended a bit on the ends to fit the Lipshaws.
