OUCH! Be careful with that. Nice pair of razors. Even if not a set.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

They look pretty close. As hand made items, even matched pairs are not perfect matches.
I have always wanted to find a set of scales with a very good wire repair job, just to preserve it. Some of those funky little things amuse me. I have a Torreywith a black plastic front scale and a homemade back scale. Sometimes those are the things that make me want to add them to the collection.

I too have a soft spot for things (not only razors) that folks did to keep them in service. There's a common joke about farmers and country boys using bailing wire to patch things up. But by God, we can patch them up and keep them running and hopefully until we can properly fix them but if we can't--bailing wire it is!

I liked the ingenuity of how this 240 year old razor was kept in service:

I like, I like!! Both look in good condition, maybe just some scales and a clean up. I have one very similar and love it.

Having grown up on an island, we have done our fair share of hobbling things along here too. As you are well aware, it is slow getting things here.

Sometimes you get what you pay for. I defer to Outbacks experience with tough metal cleaning. Hell, I may even use it on my old boat...

Looks good Mike, you'll love the PannaCrema, let me know if you manage to get the Floris to do anything other than produce and thin, slimy virtually non-existent lather....had such hope for the Floris, hoping I'm mistaken.

    Will do Phrank!
Got all three PannaCrema's to try. Hopefully one stands out as a must have.
And the Floris smells as stately as hoped, will see how it performs. Both in the bowl and straight to face.
Hopefully my heat sink compound also arrives by week end...
    Cheers.

It is the state postal code for Minnesota.

We have been a state since May 11, 1858.
