I've been waiting for customs to clear my Ozuku Asagi. It seems that it might arrive early next week, and I can't be happier. I can't show a photo, but it is from Aframestokyo and it is us still on their site, but as unavailable. I know that you can follow links to see it, but I am computer illiterate so if you want to see it, look up are aframestokyo, and look at the Ozuku option, and it's right at the bottom of the pages, easy to identify, as it weighs exactly 1664 grams, have a look guys, and if you know how to make these images visible go for it!

Unexpected, but most welcome surprise in the mail when I got home from work.
Token of appreciation for some scales I blinged up for a fellow member was repaid with a gorgeous custom monogrammed strop.

Makers mark that bears an uncanny resemblance to the playboy bunny. Not complaining, just reminded of is all.. I just read the articles honest,,, but I digress. .

Had to hang another nail, but I did so with great appreciation for the thoughtfulness of the gift.
The monogram, the pre-softened fire hose accessory strop, and the makers logo, all very well finished and constructed. I look forward to rubbing some life back into this hide.
Received unfinished, which to me is also nice as it allows me to get to the draw I want as opposed to what it already is. Don't mind putting in the palm work,
Anyway, thanks Garrison, you put the top hat in that logo for sure.

You're most welcome! I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying the Otto scales. A fine job you did on those!

Jeez, it's in some good company on that wall

    Actual horsehide Tuzi?
I will treat it to the kanayama cleaning process as it's been true to it.
Water and hand sweat, little of one, lots of the other, hehe

Been reading about some ways to clean a strop, been reading that little bit of lighter fluid on some tissue, wiped along the strop in one direction two or three times is superb for cleaning strops...that's what Mastro Livi recommends, and read a few others that do that.

Tried it on an old strop, cleaned it very nicely, dried instantly, and then followed with some palm strokes...may try that on the Kanayama later.
