    Not really in the mail but just picked up these leaf springs to make razors and knives from at a junk shop for $16.00.

    Most of those are made from 5160 type steel. Not enough carbon for razors. Works fine for knives.

    Damn! You're right. I read so much stuff I must have confused or conflated some of it. I thought I had read that they were usually 1095. Thanks Randy.

    Iwasaki tokiwa, kinda excited for this one . Looks to be in nice condition and I got it for a hell of price. I don't think it's tamahagane but I'm hoping it's still a great razor . If any of you guys have any info on this one please read me inName:  Compress_20231002_092650_0386~2.jpg

    Very curious about the bottom one, original vintage snake wood scales would be something never seen before...
