Thread: What is your Best deal ever?

I have a few deals that I can't decide between.

I got two NOS Solingens for $35 total- one is my daily shaver (a J.A. Schmidt...) and the other is my travel blade (a Robert Buntenbach Tambour). They aren't ultra fancy but they took WICKED edges and easily two of my best blades.

Other stuff...

-I picked up one of Kees's NOS Thury's for $40, best rock I own, best money ever spent on a hone.
-Picked up a near NOS 15/16ths Goldedge and DD strop for $150, not a great deal but how often do you see a DD that big that "cheap"
-8/8ths Tally Ho for $60ish, another $80ish to restore and hey presto:http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...more-horn.html Most Beautiful razor I own.

My best find was this 8/8 for $7.50

Two near NOS DD Gold Edges for $5 each.

I am the unlucky guy who rarely gets good deals, but I found a W. Greaves for $30 and a near-mint joseph rodgers for $30, saw one just like it on the bay that sold for $107...

Scored two near flawless straights for $5 each. One was a Frederick Reynolds and the other a C.V. Haljestrand #4. The old man I bought them from asked me if $10 for both of them was too much. I gave him $10 and walked with both of them (didn't have the heart to haggle with him since I already felt like I was stealing them.)
