Thanked: 351Yupp, navbar works great!
All I need now is for someone to put my dream razor up for sale for $0.27 with free shipping.
Another good one would be $20 bills on sale for $10 each?!?!
Regards

Hmmm - it says I don't have permission to access that page. Are there any new restrictions I'm not aware of?
I don't have a high post count (in fact I just started posting here) and I understand there might be restrictions for sellers, but I registered here a few months ago and in the past I could at least read the classifieds and look for interesting stuff.
EDIT: Nevermind - I just saw this in another thread
So that obivously does not only apply to sellers but to everyone.

I don't know if it's by design or error (and don't really care either way), but it seems new posts to the BST don't appear when I hit "New Posts."

Thanked: 2204May I make an observation and a suggestion?
I would like the B/S/T forum to include 2 more classifications
1: Mentoring help, ( free of charge/no cost )
Currently the list of people willing to help new guys in their geographical area is in the Wiki and
difficult to find. A number of new guys who have come to my home have found me via an
Internet search. None have said by using the Wiki so I would like to have this added to the B/S/T
because it would be more visible to new guys. Either there or as a sticky in the Beginners forum.
2. Services ( paid services)
I have had discussions with some guys who perform honing/pin tightening/razor buffing for a small
fee on an occasional basis.
They have a real problem with the vendor program costs. For them it is simply not worth the
money or just barely ( maybe).
If we keep them out of the B/S/T then we are not only putting them out of business but also
depriving the new guys of a source for help and it is help that the new guys really need.
The Vendor program is simply to expensive for the occasional honing/scale making/pin tightening
/ restoration person.
Please rethink this.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Short handed on the systems administrator end. All one guy and he has other fish to fry, like making a living and what not.
If the site ever gets a voluntary donation type of thing set up, where a professional systems administrator could be hired to perform necessary services, stuff like that would be happening.
Let's just hope it won't ever be like what happened years ago, where SRP lost all, or most, of the posting history because the system crashed without adequate back ups.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If we really need to do this, Jimmy, how does it happen?
Phrank has brought it up in a previous thread here.

Above my pay grade. Many other forums I am on have a donate button to help pay for and maintain the site. How it is done is some sort of accounting thing I suppose. Somebody has to disperse the funds, probably have to be a special account. Maybe that is one reason they don't want to mess with it ? The biggest shaving forum on the web seems to have done very well with it. We're number two, but we try harder.
