This is an interesting thread. While I do feel somewhat stifled that I cannot close a post the way I'd like to, I suppose for me personally it's not really that big of a deal. I've never had a signature line, and it really doesn't bother me personally one way or another. But I'll go back to a post I made previously. Aren't you making more of a headache for moderators? I don't know how many new members this site gets in a month (that exact number exists somewhere, I'm sure) but when new members make their first post they aren't going to know this rule. And, to be friendly, they'll end their posts with something like "happy to be here!, Roger" or maybe even a p.s. I would wager that after even 100 posts they will not know this rule UNLESS someone goes out of their way to tell them "hey buddy, no signature." I've seen a lot of the moderators get fed up with answering the same questions to new guys over and over. Won't this be just one more thing they're likely to loathe?

I suppose you could put something in the terms of use page, but how many new guys read that like seasoned attorneys? Be honest, everyone, just like me, scans those things at best.

Just a question for thought! Thanks!
