.
In my opinion, you already know the answer. Tabac is a über-versatile, excellent soap. It runs well whatever the water, whatever the brush, is fast-building, somewhat tolerant to water dosage and my skin like it a lot. Oh... is cheap enough too.
Sure shot, dude... look for an alternative only if you have some problem with it.

Thanked: 1184I hear Lava is pretty good. And the bonus in savings is you don't ever have to hone your razor because it hones as you shave. My next choice is anything from Mama Bear's. Lathers like arko (almost) and you don't have to wear a cloths pin on your nose while using it :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Can't be without?
MWF. I used to think it was way too expensive. $18 for a shaving soap? Now I know better.
Proraso/C.O. Bigelow (cream, I know.)
VDH Deluxe. As long as I can get it, I'll never be without this soap. Really inexpensive, nice, clean scent, and I get a really slick lather from it. Some folk can turn their nose up to it if they want to, This guy won't.Mike

I love Tabac but have to disagree a lil bit. I live in So Cal where the water is super hard and in order to get an excellent lather I have to load the brush much longer than any other soap. Once I do that I love the outcome but it does struggle if I lag on my loading a lil bit.
