I tried it for about 5 shaves and put it on the shelf and left it untouched for 6 months. I got it to lather but the shaves were terrible. Well, I gave it a whirl about a month ago and out of nowhere absolutely amazing shave. It now feels like a cross between a soap and a cream in its performance! Love it.

Thanked: 36MWF is one of my top 2 soaps. It and MdC are by far my top 2. It's a tough call for me which one I like better. I find the scent of MWF very pleasing.

Not overrated at all! As a matter of fact, I'd consider it underrated on the forums ... So many seem to have trouble, or expect something different.
For my good self, it is unsurpassed!

Thanked: 498While the soap performs well enough I just cant get over the horrible smell. As I always said, smells like my Grandmothers medicine cabinet.
No thanks, I'll pass.

I have nothing at all bad to say about MWF. In my experience, it lathers easily and well, provides a nice shave, doesn't irritate my skin, and has a pleasant, soapy fragrance that both SWMBO and I like.
For me, it does precisely what it's supposed to do!When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.

Thanked: 458In my rotation of 8 soaps and creams, only MdC and the cheap cream from rite aid made by creightons..can't remember the name .. only those two lather easier.
My surprisingly hard to lather soap is Tabac, which is something I never expected initially. The only thing that I don't love about MWF is that it does feel a bit thin compared to some of the other soaps and creams, even when it's lathered thick, but purchased from the UK, it's not expensive and overall nice.

Gentlemen,
Mitchell's Wool Fat is a fine soap, with good cushion and glide, and fragrance, too. I had used it off and on throughout the years and lathered with ease. Over a period of time, however, I realized that I really don't like the texture in the lather this soap makes. I can't exactly pinpoint it. There is just something about the texture. So now Mitchel's Wool Fat has vacated the shave den permanently. (D.R. Harris soaps are on their way out, too, because of their anemic cushion.)
