Thanked: 5Favorite Tallow Based Shaving Soap
Just curious as to others thoughts on their favorite tallow based formulations...Mine currently is Tabac. Love or hate the scent it is easy to lather, slick and mosturizing. Rinses cleanly also. It's a bonus that it smells good to me. Runners up currently are Mike's Natural Soaps (Hungarian Lavender and Barbershop).
What are your thought and suggestions to give others ideas to try based on your experiences?

Docmo

Thanked: 3228Since you already use Tabac, how about Arko or a Palmolive shave stick.

Stirling makes an excellent tallow base soap in a variety of scents

Thanked: 2284I've been really liking my tallow based, Tiki bar soap. I need to get some more of her soaps.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned Mitchell's Wool Fat so far. MWF is one of the best performing soaps available, although a small but significant minority find it difficult to lather (for reasons that mystify the rest of us.)

Thanked: 5I have Arko. Solid soap but as others have said reminds me of ivory soap. Ha. Have not tried Palmolive yet though.
Some of my other current favorites include Cella, Haslingers and Razorock tallow based soaps. All solid performers.
Have not tried Sterling soaps but is on my list of to get soaps.
Haven't yet tried Tiki bar either but need to get some to try soon also. Ha so many soaps ...So little stubble!

Thanked: 5Tack...Tried MWF and it performed well but had a sensitivity to something in it and broke out three times in a row. Must not be the lanolin though because I can use Haslingers with no problem at all...MWF is a quintessential favorite though. I think many have a hard time with it because of water hardness.

I like Green Mountain among others. They have a few decent scents, lather well, and protect the skin for the buff pass. They are a small U.S. company and make hypoallergenic soaps also.

My tallow line-up is Tabac, Arko, and Stirling.
Tabac is my favorite: slickness especially puts it at the top.
Arko is my "buddy": friendly to use, reliable, and inexpensive to hang out with.
Stirling I haven't dialed in like a lot of other users have. But it's not her, it's me.Keep your pivot dry!
