I would highly recommend Barrister and Mann - particularly Cologne Russe. Exceptional soap, great scent. I personally find Barrister and Mann the best soaps out there. Ive tried just about everything and in my opinion its some of the very best. THere are others that are as good but they come in at higher prices. Over 90% of my shaves are with Barrister and Mann soaps. But opinions around here are all over the board so you're likely to get many different ones.

OP, My suggestions are a D.R. Harris soap or a Castle Forbes cream in the scent that sounds the most appealing to you. This thread started by Obie would be a good place to find a new soap or cream. Several soaps/cream appear multiple times in the discussion. Just remember that the price for some of them is fairly high. I'm also a fan of Tabac, despite the polarizing scent.

Barrister and Mann or Caties Bubbles are fantastic shave soaps sub $20. Maggards Razors also sells some very nice soaps from $13-$20

My vote goes to Stirling soaps, huge tubs for around 12 bucks and a large range of scents. Super slick, easy to lather, great post shave. Check them out

<laugh> When I saw the title of this thread, I thought to myself "He's gonna be inundated with hundreds of ideas", and I think we are well on our way to giving you that amount of ideas.
With that said, I will add mine: La Toja. Great cream. Performance is awesome. Dirty cheap. And best of all... smells manly. I mean, chicks dig it. You get lucky every time you shave with it. Ok, maybe not, but still it SMELLS like you should!

Looking that up also gave me a chance to put it on my own Amazon wish list... Christmas/Yule/International Gift Exchange Day/Chanukkah/Festivas is coming up, and my tube is almost empty!Last edited by Aldwyn; 10-12-2015 at 11:01 PM.

Mama bear does make some good soaps in a wide variety of scents. Pre de Provence is a very nice soap under twenty. Also Mitchells Wool Fat (MWF) refill pucks can be had under twenty. Cella is also a very good soap under twenty.

Thanked: 14I just bought a puck of Wet Shaving Products in the barbershop scent. I think it's an awesome performer--very slick with nice cushion. Good luck!
