Gentlemen,
Here we go. This was photographed somewhere near the South China Sea or in the Central Highlands of Vietnam in 1967 or 1968. John Wayne, step aside.
All right, now let's get back to the this thread's topic of permanent residents soaps and creams in the shave den. Thanks.

Good-looking young man there, Obie!
So what was the lather in THAT shave den?
BTW, Thank YOU for your service!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Good looking, yes, my friend, and I had hair, although Army trimmed.
The lather in that scary shave den was some type of Army issue canned goo. The razor was a plastic throwaway excuse for a shaver. The water was cold, and the sink was the steel helmet, probably sitting on the ground. The good part was that I was still breathing. Good show. These days the shave den is a little different.

I've only begun to branch out if so to speak. Started out with the VDH but soon found Mitchells wool fat and loved it. Still keep it around. I have recently found the TOBS creams and can't get enough. Can't believe how well it lathers for me. Have a tub of sandlewood and a few small samples of their other flavors, trying to find some new favorites.

Mmmmm....I thought I saw that dudes face on the wall of the Post Office on a Carrier around that time frame. Seemed to be a really bad dude.

Thanked: 250I have three mugs in my den.
Porter's, that I order from Porter's Lotion in Montana.
William's, to remind me of why I like Porter's.
Two pucks of antique Watkins that make my temper hit the berserk level, both of which are destined to the Maytag for dirty socks.
I also have a small can of Barbasol to go with my DE in a travel kit, both of which make home comings to my Wade and Butcher and mug of Porter's extra special.
