Do you think a statist like Feinstein cares about what is in the soap or cosmetics? The corporations that profit from these laws are always the "big boys" and they are the ones that instigated this. They are financially able to comply with the testing and red tape that goes along with these regulations. The small producers have much less volume and usually just stop making their product (or move underground) since they cannot absorb the additional expense. This is the standard way that the big boys take control in a system of "crony capitalism", "corporatism" or the original name of Fascism.
In a truly free market I can decide for myself whether to use a product or not. It is my responsibility to know what is best for my health, not a bureaucrat who knows nothing about me, my situation or the products that I use.
