Gentlemen,
It's good to go home. For me, Martin de Candre and Castle Forbes are home. Although I use a variety of soaps and creams, it's always in the shadow of Martin de Candre and Castle Forbes. They are in the First Tier, but I think they should be in a Tier all their own. I think I may still do that: give them their own Tier, something like, say, Celestial Tier.
Note: Something else I forgot to mention. My friend Dieseled mentioned Glide by Cold River Soap Works. I have recently acquired this soap-cream, the Spanish Barbershop fragrance, and find it exceptional in the artisan soap category. It lathers well, and it's quite creamy. Good stuff.Last edited by Obie; 04-27-2019 at 10:54 PM.

Gentlemen,
I made a minor change in the lineup. Oleo Soapworks and Wholly Kaw soaps and OneBlade lavender cream are now in the Second Tier. I've moved Meisner Tremonia from the the Third Tier to the Second Tier. Cold River Soapworks Glide, a new one for me, is also in the Second Tier.
Meisner Tremonia, unfortunately, does not work for me because of the burn factor, but enough good things are said about it, especially by my friend Robin, that I think it deserves to be in the Second Tier, at least. Someday I will give it another try, hoping some change has happened and it does not burn my face, and make a final decision in its ranking.
With Martin de Candre, Castle Forbes, Klar Seifen and a few other topnotch soaps and creams in the First Tier, there is fierce competition for the artisan soaps. That's why I transferred them to the Second Tier.
As always, gentlemen, remember that all this is only my opinion.Last edited by Obie; 04-28-2019 at 03:35 PM.

I would suggest Tabac as an addition to the Celestial Tier. JMHO.

Tabac performs well, very well at it’s price point! I like the fragrance, but can’t see it as a daily driver because I just don’t care for the scent that much, I get a little of the ‘smokey granny’s bingo purse’ from it when it’s fresh, but mostly just powder. The really, really bad thing is that they discontinued Sir Irisch Moos, which was the same soap with a different scent. I have a couple of SIM sticks left in the hoard.

Im not much on the scent of Tabac. Does it work, sure it does. But its just too soapy for me. Love the glass jar!
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 81I agree that MdC and CF should have a celestial tier. I also love Tabac, although I wouldn't put it in the celestial tier - for me it's a solid 1st tier. The only other one I might add to the celestial tier is Baum.be. I love the lather, the feel of my face afterwards, and the scent.
