Oh, I like that soap. I remember the Avon stuff. We will have to put the soap in its own distinct category: Memory Lane.

Tier 1 Soap, very, very rare, actually is very much like Scottish Fine Shaving Soap, and comes in a fancy package as well...

Behold, vintage "The Kings Men Shave Bowl" Soap (threw a little Pinaud in there for you Hirlau!!)

    Default floris

Obie, I don't see mention of Floris soaps and wondered if you had not tried this soap or rate it as tier 3. For me this would easily beat a number of your T2 soaps?
Straight razor shaving is like motorcycling both require full attention and continuos learning and honing of skills...

Daro, yes, Floris belongs in the Second Tier. Thanks for the reminder. I continue to add to the tiers the soaps and creams that I have used but forgotten about. Floris is a good soap, but not exceptional.

Has anyone used L'Occitanne Cade soap? Got it for X-mas and find it to be a superb performer. Super easy to lather, slick shave and nice scent.

Yes, it's a good soap. Very hard, but lathers easily, but not as easily as Valobra hard soaps. It is an excellent buy at $12 for the refill puck.

    Cheers, Steve

Yes, got the hard puck and the cream in a jar. Both work very well for me.

Thank you for spiking my memory. Yes, that is a good soap, but I find it nothing spectacular. I'll include it in the Second Tier.
