Well maybe not. I did this to give myself more room for soaps and lotions after finding this neat topic.

Yeah...quite frustrating that I can't find anything written about the almond or lemon grass scents. Oh well, I bit the bullet and ordered the lemon. Hopefully I won't be walking around smelling like a lollipop. I'm a bee keeper as well and lemon grass is an attractive calming scent to them.

Actually, lemon grass is used to attract bee swarms so, maybe I should change my order to the classic. Lol

    Gentlemen,

Of the three or four Klar Seifen scents, I have only used the classic. Recently, finding myself getting tired of the soap, I passed my used bowl — I had transferred it from the skinny tin — to a friend, who loves the product. Good stuff.

    Default Klar Seifen Lemon Grass

Going to start this off with a bit of a controversial statement, my opinion only of course.

The bar for me is set when comparing soaps to MdC, i.e., how do its various components compare, glide, cushion, how the scent blossoms, how full and clean the scent is, and from a practical standpoint - it must easily lather every time to the high standards of that beautiful soap we call MdC - whatever flavour....

I'd venture to say, having used the Klar Seifen Classic and the Lemon Grass now, that if someone was to say to me they compared soaps to the standard of the Klar Seifen, I'd see exactly where they were coming from.

This soap is perfect - full rich lather, beautiful authentic scent, both the Classic and the Lemon Grass fill the nose, never overpower it, it lathers supremely easily perfectly every time, and is just a pleasure to use, easily for me, this soap holds 1st place for me along side and with MdC, they are different, but I'd hate to have to try and put one over the other.

The Klar Seifen Lemon Grass hits it out of the ballpark, nothing but net, and scores from the Blue line, just a superb delightful soap to use, I'd highly recommend it.

The remaining places for me would be filled with Acqua Di Parma(awesome), XPEC, Castle Forbes Lavender, Alvarez Gomez, DR Harris, Saponificio Varesino...and the SAD goes on and on....

I'd have to agree Phrank on your review of the Klar Lemon. Jury is still out, only have two shaves, but I had one hell of a shave this morning with it. Great cushion and easily got three passes. The scent is not overpowering and is easy to describe. Non of this..."masculine smell with hints of cedar and swamp moss" and when it shows up it smells like a boot. Quite simply...it smells like lemon. It seems to lather up a touch easier than D.R. Harris but that last pass didn't get watery like the Harris. So far, good stuff and have a feeling I will keep coming back to this soap.

There so much info. Thank you. I purchased 2 MdC Russ and love them. Looking for something else. Klar seems popular.
Has anyone tried Abbate Y La Mantia Shaving Soap - KROKOS

In my opinion the Krokos is a marvellous soap, Top Tier in every regards, I had brought my jar out again after giving it a rest, and was again impressed at how beautifully this soap performs. It is very, very light on the scent, your shave will not smell like freshly prepared Basmati Rice loaded with Saffron, it gives a subtle hint of the spice, which in retrospect, is probably for the better.

It's on my bathroom table now, getting another few rounds of use...don't think you'd be disappointed in it.

Another great choice is the Alvarez Gomez....one of the top 5 in my opinion....absolutely stunning on every front, and a scent that is incredible.

It looks like something your cat or dog barfed up, but an amazing soap....

+1 on the Alvarez Gomez. The scent is so good that if I mistakenly get a blob of lather in my nose hole I just leave it there. Well... maybe for just a little while.

See, now I'm stuck on 3 instead of 2. Which to buy.
    Klar, Gomez or Krokos
