On the other hand, I do like the lather, as I said, although I am discovering it needs steady moisture.
Obie, I had the same experience. I don't care for soaps that are heavily perfumed, and didn't care for either Rosa or Blu, and ended up selling both. The soaps performed adequately, but no where near the level of praise that they receive. I know that I'm in the minority, as these soaps are loved by the majority who have purchased them, but they just were not for me. Anyone who enjoys the designer colognes that these soaps represent will probably enjoy these soaps. The bowls are very nice, only they aren't refillable.

I agree with everything you say, Richard. After three shaves, I could no longer tolerate the fragrance and sold the Nuavia Rossa. It cost me a fortune to ship the bloody thing. too. Talk about taking a loss. Nuavia Blu is on the way, so I can't comment on that.

From my experience with the Rossa, the soap is over-hyped, I agree, and priced way out of line. It is not a low quality soap, no, of course not, but neither is it the eighth wonder of the world. I find the soap good but nothing special, except for the attractive jar. Nuavia belongs in the Second Tier.

I have sniffed scores of designer fragrances with designer names and none of them I can remember. They all seem to have somewhat similar fragrance notes floating through them. Anyway, the Nuavia Rossa would fit perfectly among them. I was considering the soap for quite sometime, but in the end went against my gut feeling and ordered it. OY! Well, let's wait for the Blu.

I've seen the names on other forums. Since I didn't own and haven't used them, I can't remember what was mentioned.

Castle Forbes is excellent. It's hard to find a better soap and it's cheaper to use than you might think.

    Cheers, Steve

    Gentlemen,

I must admit, the fragrance of Panna Crema Nuavia Blu is worlds apart from that of the Rossa version of this Italian soft soap. I found Rossa's fragrance really unpleasant. Blu blends a variety of notes such as orange, lavender and bergamot with some exotic stuff to create a fragrance that reminds me of Italian pastries.

The soap lathers well. Cushion and glide are good. The aftershave quality is good. I like the hand painted ceramic bowl in which it comes. Is this soap exceptional? No, I don't think so. Good, yes, exceptional, no. I think Panna Crema Nuavia, both Blu and Rossa, which are the only ones I have tried, belong in the top end of the Second Tier soaps.
