Coming off three years of full beard my soap stash has dwindled considerably between moves and PIFs to a few new guys, so i thought I might order a new one as a treat. Then I found this thread...I now have tubs of D.R. Harris Marlborough, Cella, Mama Bear Dublin Tweed, and Tabac on the way. Note to self SAD doesn't go away, it just waits (much better than I do mind you). Thanks for the recommendations everyone, I'll update once I've got a few shaves with each.

The DR Harris Windsor is my favourite of them all, it smells like an 19th Century English Gentleman's Club. After a shave with that, you'll feel like colonizing the world and oppressing everyone....

I've done plenty of updating on my 1st tier lately. Right now it's WSP Formula T, B&M glissant base, Saponificio Varesino, Tabac, Fine(very close to Tabac), Jeeves of Hudson Street, DR Harris, I Coloniali, and Sudsy Soapery. They all have scents that I love, and I get outstanding performance and post shave from all of them.

I'm a Windsor guy too. Part of my routine is trying lots and lots of different soaps and if I've been underwhelmed by certain ones, I'll go back to DR Harris Windsor to remind me what a perfect lather is supposed to feel like. Originally Posted by Phrank

I like the 88 a lot, I did read an earlier post that this was a bit waxy, I find adding a bit more water transforms it and makes it really good... Originally Posted by Phrank

Agreed - my entire opinion on that soap has gone from zero to hero...again for me, just needed to slow down, and load the brush up really well, quickly become one of my favorites, easily a Tier 1 IMO.... Originally Posted by Daro

One of local shaving goods suppliers got hold of the Traditional and Fougere scents of Le Pere Lucien 98gr and I purchased one of each. I used one this morning and although the soap is brilliant and everything it's made out to be ie plentiful lather, great scent and glide, latherng created a hell of a mess. Looks like I'll have to scoop some soap out of the tin.

Can't believe I'm going to say thisomething, but I'm all in for the Trufitt and Hill Sandelwood. After trying the sample pack it was the one I liked the best, with grafton a close second. Was also the one the wife liked the best.

I've been using the Abbate for the last few days now and I'm going to say something I never thought I'd ever be saying. I think it's the best soap I've ever used period and I pretty much have them all.
When I get a chance I'll do a review in the next few days but the ease of lathering, the amount of lather, the consistency, stayability of it and slickness, cushion and scent are the best I've ever seen.
The caveat is you have to like Saffron (I'm talking about the Saffron variety of the soap here not the others). The scent is light and clean and simple but very well done. Even the packaging is very well thought out.
