    Gentlemen,

After one shave, I find Abbate y La Mantia Krokos an exceptional shave soap. Soft soap, I might add. What stands out first is the soft and subtle saffron fragrance. I love saffron, and this is the first time I have experienced it in a shave soap — and for me, it is a perfect combination of shave soap and the most expensive spice on earth.

The lather, although thick and creamy, didn't seem voluminous on my first try. I thought I would have to reload the brush later in the shave. I misjudged, because the lather was plenty for my three-pass shave.

Abbate y La Mantia Krokos had remarkable cushion and glide. I should note that the glorious edge on my 6/8 Revisor helped. What I found especially curious was the soap's beard preparation quality: the razor, with my short strokes, seemed to nudge each hair individually and then gently slice it off.

Finally, the soap's aftershave properties are ideal even for an ultra sensitive skin such as mine. My face feels silky smooth, which, of course, complements my Hollywood face. This could be the day I am discovered. I had intended to use Woods of Windsor aftershave, but changed that to the I Coloniali aftershave balm, which made for a good pairing.

I am impressed enough with Abbate y La Mantia Krokos , after one shave, to place the soap in the First Tier. Good stuff.

Very well said with elegance Obie, I do not have your command of the keyboard as you, but my thoughts exactly. My first use was today, and another dozen or more shaves and I will add any other points I learn along the way, but I do agree it's tier one all the way, and the aftershave feeling may be the top one so far, I can't stop faceterbating today. So it is worthy of the cost, which is as much as MDC. I do believe I now have 3 soaps for regular use, MDC, Castle Forbes And now this soap. Tc

I was reading the back of the label on IB. Seems it's made by Tcheon Fung Sing. They must use the saffron grown by Abbate

I wish Abbate y La Mantia had individual sample sizes. I've been going through the first tier samples that I could find, and am enjoying some amazing shaves. Thanks Obie for getting me on this track.

I have seen that term for several years now, but seeing you use it somehow makes it a lot more funny. I want you to help me find a Harley and I don't mind if you are constantly rubbing your face while you do it.

Has anyone tried L'Occitane Cade cream? I've heard some people rave about it, but I've also heard that there seems to be some inconsistency in the strength of scent. It's not cheap, and there aren't are samples readily available that I know of, so I've never tried it.
