Ive been trying the Haslingers soap i got from Theoman. It real is a nice soap. I find a nice the quality of the soap to be very nice as far as slick, and lather. Not a big cusion to it but the over-all performance of the soap is very good. Im not one for scent sense i dont smell much any more but the quality of the soap itself is very nice. It will have a place in my rotation.

Which formula is the one you have? The old formula was tallow based and the new one is veggie based. I have only used the old tallow version and liked it very much.

I think I have tried both the old and new and like them. This is a good and unassuming soap. The only think I don't like about the soap is the small size. In the past, I have grated the soap into a fair size lather bowl and loaded my brush with ease. Good stuff.

    Thanks Obie.

You get cautious when a soap is reformulated after the number of screw ups that have happened when that was done. Yes, the small size can be a disadvantage at times.

Guessing its the new formula. It was a new puck from Theoman. They are a bit smaller in size. I will say it took a little extra time and water before i got the lather i like but after the lther came up it was a nice rich lather and didnt fade away as some do. Its a water hog.

I never met a Hasslinger soap that I didn't like.

I especially like the Seaweed - light blue puck.
    Superb performance.
The scent of it is terrific, not what you would think.

Oh, I am excited now, Peter! Jerry's sending me a Haslinger sample and other goodies in trade for my unused SRD diamond sprays.

I've tried more soaps and creams this year than ever thanks to some generous sharing here on the forum. Tom's sample of MdC really blew me away, so I asked Jerry for a sample of his MdC Fougere. I know I will be taking advantage of MdC's next sale...just a matter of which one(s?) to get.

Get them all. MDC is king. I compare all my soaps to it. Some are close to the same quality and some serpass in one performance like slick, etc. But MDC has just the right amount of everything that makes for a good shave. The scent is faint to me so i dont compare the scents of soaps unless they just stink. JMHO.

I was about to order more MdC shaving soaps, but the shipping costs put me off.
In the end, I ordered some more Meissner Tremonia soaps with scents that I hadn’t tried before, where the shipping costs were much more reasonable, and that are IMO at least as good, if not better than MdC.

If you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend that you do.
You can also buy small samplers and may then find that MdC is not “king” any longer.

    Hey Jerry,

How does MdC compare to Haslinger schafmilch? I’ve been avoiding mdc because of the cost but it seems everywhere I go on srp people are always speaking well of it. I like the Haslinger but feel like it could be a little better, i may just need more time with it.
