Thread: Martin de Candre Rose

I won't give a name, but we have a fine member here that DOES like the rose scented MDC. He told me about it a week ago. The scent is a personal thing. Now, it's not me. As most of you know, my sniffer dont work so well any more. I love MDC for its abilities. This is what I look for in a soap. All soaps. Scent means next to nothing to me. Its too bad the Rose Scent didn't get a better review. But you all know better than me when it comes to scent.

Never cared for the rose scent, it performed the same, but to me it may as well have been unscented. Fourgere and the original is great, the scent is not overpowering, yet it's still detectable. I never got a rose scent at all

This is the 1st time i have read civilized reponses to a critique of any MdC soap.. It is refreshing that is for sure.. Though with OP'er being the OG of soap/cream reviews held back some responses for sure.. I have wanted to order MdC for quite some time but the backlash of any negative's said about MdC makes it not worth it to me.. Thank for this review Obie.. SMW

I have some and really think it a great soap. While the scent is light, I don't think it my favorite scent in the lineup..
The Argrumes scent is more favorable, yet I tend to use it in the warmer climates.
The fougere has never been my type of scent in any soap, yet for those who like it, MDC is very good.
Now the original is the all-time mac-daddy for me. Love that stuff.

BTW, being a person that is not good with words, What I was trying to say is to try it, you might think its the Rose Scent of all times. You just won't know until you try.

And btw Obie IS Santa Claus!!!

Now that we got the Rose out of the way how about the citrus. Has anyone tried it and if yes did you like it?

Well-said. Scents are subjective.
Still, it all is super, IMO.

I completely agree. Even if the Rose scent was not to my liking I'd use it up because of its abilities.
Or pass out samples to everyone. Ha.
TC had some a few years ago and shared a sample with me. I was too new to wet shaving to really understand what MDC was about. The scent was very light to my nose. Next to nothing. But that again is my problem.
