Hey John --long time no talk ---- I think it does work well as a preshave and maybe if I get the amount right it will probably be a good post shave concoction ---but I don't have dry skin (like all them sissies) so I don't need much in the ways of aftershave .

I used to us eit as a preshave. It was ok. Haven't used it in a while. Didn't like the scent.

I still use it as pre-shave. I prefer it to oils (too slippery to do good skin stretching!) and DR Harris pre-shave (ouch! it stings!). The smell is eucalyptus and nothing great, but as soon as I put the shaving cream on the smell dissipates and I'm just left with the nice cool feeling.

    It's cheap and cheerful!

I'm not a B&B member, but I read a post about the Pre/Post Proraso that I've been applying every day for about two weeks, as we haven't had rain here in the NC mountains, and has been really effective. I smear about a dime sized drop into my hands, and then pour any liquid aftershave I feel like using on top. Sometimes it's Thayer's alcohol free in a certain scent, sometimes it's Pinaud bay rum....

Then rub it into my face and around my neck. This leads to a nice moisturizing and cooling effect, mixed with the hydrosol I choose to use with the Pre/post. Great stuff for when it's dry/hot out!!!

Give this a try if you haven't found a place for your Proraso pre/post shave cream!!!

I thought this sounded interesting, so this morning I gave it a try.

Normally I use Proraso a/s splash after my shave 99% of the time, whatever soap or cream I've just used. I basically never use any other a/s product than this, it's either that or nothing.

So this morning after the shave, I put a tiny blob of Proraso Pre/Post cream in my palm, then my usual sized splash of Proraso a/s splash, mixed them a little between my palms and splashed on as usual.

It was superb, it was actually very similar (but better IMO) to using the Proraso a/s balm/milk. I think the Proraso splash is fine for most days, but when I want a little extra moisturising i'll just add a dab of the Pre/Post.

    Great tip.

Not my favourite smell, but I prefer the shave to some creams I have tried.
I bought some very well reccomended creams which smelt so good, but I cannot get a good shave from them. I would now go for the performer over the nice smelling cream.

    Default smells like oven cleaner

I just bought and used CE Bigelow rebranded Proraso cream for the first time, and was less than impressed. The lather felt "dry" and not very slick while shaving, and the smell... it smells more like oven cleaner than eucalyptus, menthol or camphor... then I read the ingredients... sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide... I know those are ingredients used in soap making (also in oven cleaner), but it makes it seem that they didn't make "soap", they just threw those ingredients together... and it smells like it!

I'm going to take it with me to the MA get togetha in a 12 days and see if anyone wants to buy it from me for $7 (the cost of Kiss My Face shaving cream)... I paid $10 for it and used a kidney-bean size amount.

Makes a nice looking lather, but you folks can keep your Proraso... more KMF for me!
