Default Proraso -- You can keep it.

Well I bought some Proraso Green and the Pre/Post shave stuff . I think both work O.K. but this stuff stanks ----I suppose beauty is in the nose of the beholder, but if you like this stuff (and plenty people do), more power to ya. The cooling effect is nice though. I think I'll stick with the Mama Bear soaps.

That's funny, I feel just the opposite. The fragrance of the soap to me is not very important to my shave. The lather produced, lubrication, and how my skin feels after the shave are more important to me than the perfume they contain. I've tried all the soaps and creams out there and I've recently decided that the Proraso green cream out performs them all in every category important to me, to say nothing at all about the relatively low cost and local availability. Remember, in shaving, to each his own.

Yep ---- to each his own for sure --- the smell usually isn't that important to me either, but there is just something about it that turns me off --- plus I think it performs O.K. ---but I'm probably in the minority as far as not liking it. It seems to be a popular choice.

Popular or not, you use what you like; period. I personally like the Proraso products -it's efficacious and relatively cheap. Plus the cooling sensation is outstanding.

    To each his own...

I don't like the smell at first, but I love the feel.

I don't like Proraso at all. It dries my face out, and smells pretty noxious to me.

I was given the proraso green, and although I love the way it lathers and the way it feels, I can't use it! Something in it just doesn't agree with my skin and I break out almost immediately

I like proraso, though not as much as my Taylor of Old Bond (currently my most used cream). Living in the desert, proraso is great for the summer months. I didn't like the smell at first either, but it has grown on me. It is great for travel as well.

I think I'm starting to appreciate this Proraso stuff ---- especially the pre/post. Maybe I just wasn't mature enough to appreciate it at first --- but I think it might just grow on me yet. The pre/post might be a little too much for my somewhat oily skin as an aftershave --- but I'll work with it.

    Hi Justin,

I to have oily skin, and find that if I use it as a pre shave only I have no problems with it, and I do get a really good smooth shave. I have tried it on occasion post shave and find that hours later I oil up worse than normal and have put it down to the proraso.

    Cheers
    John
