I'm still working my way through two tubs of The Bomb myself, one Lime and one Bay Rum.
I'm getting a bit more money conscious lately so I'm trying to see how much soap/cream I actually need to finish a complete shave. I don't want to compromise on quality so buying cheaper store products is out of the question. They're both in my weekly rotation and are both really lasting a long time. I need less cream to do the job than I need with most actually, this stuff is pretty dense. I started the Soca Bomb (Lime) tub on the same week as I started a tube of Proraso. I need a new tube of Proraso, but the Bomb is still going strong with well over half of the tub left.

I contacted Al and expressed an interest in a floral scent. With Al's help, I chose the Boheme. I couldn't be happier. The fragrance is perfect. The latherability is top notch. I find the post shave results to be excellent. I also got a sample of the shaving balm, which is superior to anything else I've used. Anyone looking for a well made product and the best customer service should give it a try.
Much appreciated, thanks Al!

So after I read BeBerlin's comparison to CF's cream I had to try it. I kept reloading the page until the link to SRD came up and put some on order. I was so stoked the day it got here that I ran in, showered and got to work. As soon as I cracked the lid I fell hard. I'm a sucker for lavender and WOW it smells awesome! I loaded the brush up and got to lathering. It made a great lather and I was excited to start shaving. My shave went decent with a little irritation. I tend to shave over lapping quite a bit and notice a bit of drag on the overlapped areas. Nothing horrific but irritating. I kind of figured I'll stick with it a few days because I'm still fairly new and my stropping isn't always perfect and chalked it up to that. As the days went on it felt better and better. Then I got bored and wanted to switch it up and spotted the bomb and decided to see how it did comparatively again. Loaded the brush and moved to my face and damn if it didn't literally explode into lather. Don't get me wrong, the CF lathers awesome but The Bomb truly earns it's name by this fact alone. It's almost shocking. I also was able to make those multiple passes without having the drag. Maybe this is due to what Lynn described as the greasy feeling? My experience with the bomb was truly better than my experience with CF. Now I'm not getting rid of the CF as it does rock and the scent alone is seriously awesome but The Bomb remains my favorite. Now once I make some more room in the cabinet I'll give that xpec a shot.

Thanked: 0Purchased my first jar of the da bomb and it is da 2h!t!!! The lather that it made was amazing when i put it on my face and the lime smell was great. The later stayed pretty wet for 15-20 mins or so.
From all the soaps I have tried, I think this is the best stuff on the planet that I know of unless some Amazonian's have something that we haven't discovered yet.

Received my first jar of the new "less dense" formula Bomb a couple days ago. Al calls the scent of this one Palermo. He told me when I ordered it that I might find that the performance of this product was not as exceptional as the original dense Bomb. I have used it for two shaves so far and I find it to be superb. It is somewhat easier to whip up the lather than the dense product and the shave is every bit as good. The scent is very subtle with just a hint of menthol which is a real favorite of mine.
Another great product from my favorite Sudsmeister! Contact Al and he will be happy to hook you up with a scent you will really enjoy.
PS - If you REALLY like a floral scent shave try Al's Boheme mixed with Carrie's Rose scent for an uberlather that is heavenly.

Thanked: 8I got my vetiver Bomb a couple days ago. The smell is just wonderful - a clean, earthy scent that reminds me of running in Central Park in the dewy morning. Al made me a batch that was a little slicker than usual. This extra slickness was what my crazy sharp Iwasaki has been waiting for in order to really shine. It took me a couple tries to get the water ratio down, but when I did, I had the best shave of my life. Thanks again Al.

Thanked: 12I have been experminting with this stuff and I have to say it is a top notch cream. great cushion and lubrication, the only thing is that it does take some getting used to in order to get the lather right, once you do it's a great lather

Thanked: 13I have been working my way into a tub of Bergamot, and couldn't be enjoying it more. Is it the best shaving cream ever? Difficult to say since I suspect I never will have tried them all. However, I've made a decent run between the AOS to CF creams and I thought Al's recipe stood up with the best of the players in that range. The scent is very nice, but the orange flavor is not ultimately for me. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other scents and finding the right fit. Its tough to give email descriptions of the scents, so there is a bit of trial and error one must accept when entering the world of Da Bomb. It lathers up quite well, has a density to it that lets me feel like I am cutting into the beard as much as the cream, and nary a red or overly dry spot on my face afterwards. I will always be trying other creams and making the rounds of the old favorites, but I am sure a tub of Al's alchemy will always be shoved in some easy to reach corner of my shaving drawer...for many moons to come.
