Thanked: 48O-M-G !
O-M-G !
There is no reason to continue a forum about soaps... this is it! The soap to end all soaps.
Twisted the cap off this morning to a pleasingly eye opening burst of fresh fragrance. A sort of mossy citrus lavender as one poster put it. Very agreeable. Filled the sink with hot water to soak my brush, a Stephens Silvertip that came with my SRD straight razor package and has proven itself to be a nice brush. Unloaded a tablespoon of the water onto the soap and let it set while I showered up using the residue from the paper seal that closed the jar on my face and the bar soap on my body. Let it all just soak in for a good 10 minutes. Poured off the water from the soap into my cup and gave the brush a shake and passed it for no more then 5 seconds over the soap before putting it to the cup and working it into the soapy water. Within 5 seconds my cups was overflowing with a lather that would put to shame even the uber-latherers. Just heaps and heaps of perfect with a nice sheen and milky smooth texture. Lathered up my face good and hot toweled it for 2 minutes. Even after removing the towel my face looked as though i had just lathered it, the foam was all still there!
Rinsed it off with hot water and re-lathered. An awesome lather with so much cushion and glide that I didn't even feel or hear any hairs being cut at all. A one pass BBS that is also in thanks to Lynn for his master hone work on my Friodur recently purchased off ebay. Third lather for XTG not that I needed it but just because I could and I didn't want the shave to end so fast. On the fourth lathering I took these pictures...
Well 3 more passes later I still had a cup full of lather that wasn't even diminishing and I figured I probably should think about doing some work today.
On top of all of that this marked my first all straight razor shave, a shave to remember.
Anyone who has not tried this soap I really feel sorry for you

I'm so glad it has lavender in it! That means I cannot buy it as my 5yo is allergic! Finally, i'm saving money.

Gentlemen:
Yes, yes, there is also the unscented version, as my good friend rum points out. So rearviewmirror, also my good friend, you are caught in the magic of Martin de Candre. Get your brush ready.

Obie

MINE JUST CAME IN TODAY!!!!!!! And the soap says, Fougere=Fern. But it is soap. smells different but amazing!!!! I will almost feal guilty about using it, and I'm also nervous about letting SWMBO smell it for fear of losing it forever!!!!!!
Obie I owe you one for posting about MDC! I was going to wait till the morning to try it but maybe......"We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

Str8Shooter, my dear friend, you are very welcome.
Martin de Candre wakes up the senses in a riot of fireworks. When using it, I try to prolong the narcotic effect of the fragrance by adding a fourth pass just for the chance to re-lather.
Regards,
Obie
