Thanked: 48That must have been the combo I received as well, a small vile of shampoo and a block of hand soap that has a fern-like smell whatever that might be. Really nice stuff. I was actually wondering how long does a tub of soap last unopened and then after opened? If it lasts for a long time I might be willing to put down on a larger purchase to save a bit on shipping and either save it or divide it out with whoever is interested. Perhaps even get some of the other MDC products.
Coincidentally I just broke down and ordered a new Thiers-Issard Celebration Royal Crown razor with their super hard carbonsong steel. A fine french razor should make a perfect match for a fine french soap. Now I just need to pour myself a glass of fine french wine. I can't stop thinking of all the money I am saving by avoiding mach cartridgesLast edited by groovyd; 06-26-2011 at 09:16 PM.

If it's exposed to the air the scent will decrease over time. That was my concern with the MDC Wood Shaving Bowl. I got one of the wood boxes they sell which is made to store soap and it's big enough to put 2 wood shave bowls and store some other soaps. Just what the MD ordered. I had also ordered a bunch of 300 gram soap blocks and they came in a sealed cardboard box and they seem to be doing well in there.

Thanked: 146I HATE ALL YOU SOAP WHORES!!!!
I have been seriously racking my brains to come up with some auspicious "occasion" that I can use to convince my SWMBO that I need this soap!
When she finds out the price (and she WILL find out.) I will have some explaining to do. I am tempted just to order it and beg forgiveness, but I would hope that you fine fellows would help a brother out! Please come up with some of you most unique excuses for past indulgences....HELP!Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity. ~Lucius Annaeus Seneca

My dear JoeSomebody:
The solution is simple. Order Martin de Candre shaving soap for yourself and a variety of other soaps and shampoo for the dearly beloved. I dare say she will probably be delighted at how sweet you are, and might say, "Oh, darling, you shouldn't have." It's like extending a handshake to people: most people will return the handshake.
Regards,
Obie
